Dr Meisner has been caring for people living with HIV for over a decade. She graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2013, receiving the Dr Elias Abrutyn Award for excellence in infectious diseases. She went on to complete her internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where she was in the HIV primary care and Global Health tracks. During her internal medicine training, she also completed a certificate in Global Health Delivery at Harvard School of Public Health. She went on to complete her Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, during which time she also completed a Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Fellowship as well as a Master of Science in Health Policy. During that time she was awarded the Richard P Shannon Trainee Award for Outstanding Leadership in Quality and Patient Safety for the Department of Medicine. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Division of Infectious Diseases, where she won the Stephen J Gluckman Infectious Diseases Faculty Teaching Award. She is currently the Sana Clinic Medical Director at Prevention Point Philadelphia, where she provides HIV primary care to patients who use drugs and are experiencing homelessness. Her research is focused on innovating and improving the care for patients living with HIV and those with infections secondary to substance use.
